Our defense practice has been aggressively defending claims since 1969.  We believe in prompt and accurate assessments of liability and damages so that defense resources can be allocated for maximum effect.  Every sixty days, we provide an updated analysis of each claim which allows claims staff to adjust the defense direction for optimum results.  While some defense firms adhere to the strategy of conducting all possible discovery, we work in conjunction with the client and claims staff to identify the discovery which should be performed to maximize the likelihood of a favorable outcome.
One of the core components of our defense strategy is the maximization of defense resources. In order to maximize the effect of funds for the defense of claims, we continually analyze the liability, causation and damages elements of each claim. If liability was in issue initially but recent discovery concludes liability is not a viable jury issue, we alert claims staff so that the defense can be re-directed to the damages issues to return a better result for the client.  We will provide an assessment of what discovery should be performed and why it should be performed. We work in partnership with our clients to ensure that only needed discovery is performed. By focusing on needed discovery versus all possible discovery, we are able to save our clients valuable defense resources that can be better allocated elsewhere.
On a yearly basis, we provide seminars/lectures to your Connecticut claims staff regarding changes to Connecticut law, jury verdict analysis, or suggested topics from the claims staff.  This is all done without charge.
